Build. Experiment. Just BE.
A free creative space for children aged 5-10 in Bucharest.
Thousands of building pieces. Small groups. No screens. No grades. No right answer.
Just time to build, play and see what happens.

What is DragonLab?
Not another class.
Kids spend a lot of time being told what to do.
At DragonLab, we give them building materials, a few ideas if they need them, and then get out of the way.
They can build a dragon, a city, a machine, something useful or something completely ridiculous.
There is no model they need to copy and nothing they need to finish.
The child leads. We create the conditions.
How it works
Small groups. Big imagination.
5-6 children per session
Small groups mean everyone gets enough space, materials and attention.
Thousands of building pieces
Build whatever you want. If someone gets stuck, we'll have a few optional challenges for inspiration.
Supported, not instructed
There will always be an adult running the session to help when needed - but we won't tell kids what they should build.
Parents stay too
A parent or guardian stays onsite during the session. Coffee and water are on us while the kids build.
Completely free
No membership. No session fee. No catch.
Ages 5-10
The first DragonLab sessions are designed for children aged 5-10.
For parents
Coming to DragonLab
DragonLab is designed for children aged 5-10.
For the first pilot, each session will have just 5-6 children. A parent or guardian stays onsite throughout.
There is no need to bring anything. We'll provide all the building materials.
Parents can stay nearby, have a coffee or water, work for a bit, or watch the chaos unfold.
Why DragonLab?
Kids need unstructured time too.
Classes are useful. Sports are useful. Screens can be useful.
But sometimes kids also need time when nobody has planned the outcome for them.
DragonLab gives them a table, lots of pieces and some time.
What they do with it is up to them.
Just build something. Or don't. That's kind of the point.
The first pilot
Starting small.
The first DragonLab session will take place in September 2026 at betahaus Romania in Bucharest.
We're starting with just 5-6 children, around 4,000 building pieces and one simple question:
What happens when you give kids the time and freedom to build whatever they want?
We'll learn from the first sessions and take it from there.
For partners
Help us keep DragonLab free.
Families don't pay to attend DragonLab.
To keep it that way, we'd like to work with companies and organisations that can help with things we actually need.
Partners can contribute
Dragonform runs the sessions and takes care of the programme.
You help with one piece of the puzzle.

About
A Dragonform initiative.
DragonLab is a small community project created by Dragonform.
Dragonform normally works with organisations to turn ideas into real products and services.
With DragonLab, we're using some of the same thinking to create something simpler - a free place for kids to build.
“I don't want DragonLab to tell kids what to build. I want to give them the space to figure that out themselves.”
